About Le Tour

Le Tour is a small, traditional alpine village situated at 1450 metres at the far end of the Chamonix Valley. It’s peaceful setting under the Le Tour Glacier offers the idyllic Alpine retreat in the heart of the mountains. The village is well suited to those who like a slower pace of life.

Le Tour has a few bars and restaurants available for those staying in the village. As a quieter location the nearest pâtisseries, boulangeries and supermarket etc are in Argentière which is a 5 minute bus ride or car journey away.

Based at the foot of the lift leading up to the Balme (Le Tour and Vallorcine) ski area this village is really great for those who want to get first lifts in the morning and take the last run home. In the summer Le Tour is a popular spot for Mountain Biking and Hiking.

The village has easy access to Chamonix and the other ski areas where there are a number of winter and summer activities on offer.

Restaurants in Le Tour

Le Tour has three main restaurants so you can enjoy a meal out. These are:

Chalet Alpins du Tour | French | This is a hotel restaurant that offers traditional French and Savoyarde cuisine in casual relaxed atmosphere
L'Olympic | French / Savoyarde | A popular restaurant right by the lift station offering good value Fondue and Raclette
Le Passon | French / International | Close to the lift station this snack bar and restaurant offers a good selection of dishes to fill you up after an active day on the mountain

There is a wider offering in Argentière and Chamonix which are a 5 minute and 20 minute bus ride away respectively. Haute Pursuit also offer an in-resort taxi service and you can contact them using this form.

Bars and Nightlife in Le Tour

Le Tour is a quiet backwater village and not the place for those looking for a lot of nightlife. The L’Olympic and Le Passon both serve alcoholic drinks but are not open late into the evening. For a more lively nightlife scene, you’ll need to head to Argentière or Chamonix which are a 5 minute and 20 minute bus ride away respectively.
